Tim Matanovich
Tim Matanovich is “The Pricing Guy”, a nickname he received because of his persistent commitment to improving business performance through a focus on value and pricing. Tim has been a business leader, speaker and consultant in pricing since 1993, and is currently president of Value and Pricing Partners, LLC.
From 2006 – 2008 Tim was Vice President, Strategic Pricing and Value at The TriZetto Group. TriZetto is a $500M growth company, providing IT solutions in healthcare. In his role as Vice President, Tim worked with product management to quantify value and define pricing strategies. He developed incentive programs to reward pricing excellence, demonstrated the cost of undisciplined pricing behaviors and introduced processes and programs that reduced discounting by half.
Prior to joining TriZetto, Tim was General Partner at Market Leaders Group LLC, and a Senior Consultant with StratX. In these capacities Tim consulted worldwide to help business leaders increase returns for shareholders and reduce business risk. Among others, Tim has worked with GE, DuPont, Ericsson, PPG, VHA, Hercules and First Data Corporation.
Tim’s specialty is pricing and market strategy. He has published over 25 articles on the subjects. Tim has been an adjunct faculty member with the Institute for Study of Business Markets at Penn State, the Center for Services Leadership at Arizona State and at Regis University. He has also spoken at a host of professional conferences in his areas of expertise.
To preserve the planet for future generations, Tim contributes 10% of the profits from Value and Pricing Partners, LLC to the Alliance for Climate Protection, founded by former Vice President Al Gore. Tim also serves as Executive Director of the Colorado Fencing Academy, a leading sabre fencing school.
Tim received his MBA from the University of Michigan, and currently lives in the foothills west of Denver with his wife and two children: a 16 year old Tom Cruise and an 12 year old Roger Daltrey.
George E. Cressman Jr.
George Cressman is founder and president of World Class Pricing, a consultancy specializing in helping clients build world class pricing managers, and an Associate with Value and Pricing Partners.
George has consulted for the past 11 years with the Strategic Pricing Group and the Monitor Group. He has consulted with clients in Europe, South America and Asia in areas of business and marketing strategy, planning, pricing strategy, competitive strategy and marketing research. He has held Business, Sales, and Marketing Management positions at DuPont, Monsanto, and Union Carbide. Currently, Dr. Cressman is a member of the Advisory Board for the Institute for the Study of Business Markets, has served as a Trustee for the Marketing Sciences Institute, and is a Visiting Scholar at the University of Virginia. Dr. Cressman is an Adjunct Faculty Professor at the University of Delaware and Drexel University. Dr. Cressman holds an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, an M.B.A., and his doctoral work is in marketing.
Dr. Cressman is a regular speaker at Executive Development programs and has presented at the University of Minnesota, Ohio State University, University of Chicago, Purdue University, and Columbia University. He has been quoted in The Economist and a number of trade journals, and has published widely.
Dr. Michael Orlando
Dr. Michael Orlando is an experienced executive and specialist in business economics, including networks, payment systems, risk management, and cost-benefit analysis. Michael is currently a principle with Economic Advisors, Inc., an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Tulane University and an Associate with Value and Pricing Partners.
Most recently Michael was Vice President for Research and Product Development at evolve24, LLC, a business analytics firms specializing in reputation metrics where he developed and validated algorithms for quantifying media content. Prior to joining evolve24, he served as Vice President and Branch Executive of the Fed's Denver Branch. He was responsible for regional economic research, energy markets analysis, policy advising, and public communication.
Michael's research spans a range of topics in applied microeconomics. He has published work on the economics of payments networks, corporate governance, financial regulatory policy, the geography and industrial demography of innovation, energy, and environmental policy. He has also co-authored a textbook on money and banking.
Michael holds degrees in economics from Washington University in St. Louis, in business administration from Tulane University, and in petroleum and natural gas engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
Gretchen Geary
Gretchen Geary’s passion is creating and implementing remarkable change. She has had a successful career aligning organizational and individual behavior with business strategy as both an entrepreneur and a corporate manager. Gretchen is a Certified Work-Out Facilitator and an Avatar Master. She is an Associate with Value and Pricing Partners.
Gretchen has a dynamic and unconventional leadership style that has created successful interventions in the organizational development field working for The Human Dimension, American Express, GE and a number of medium sized businesses.
Mid career, Gretchen took a twist and opened a business called Source. She designed and built custom furniture from architectural salvage, integrating her business and green philosophies. She grew the business rapidly by practicing what she preaches and eventually sold it to another firm.
Gretchen’s degree is in Broadcast Journalism, and she worked in TV for a short time in NY. As she cultivated her love for people, she decided to use her investigative and curious nature to solve people problems. Human Dimension, American Express, GE and a number of medium sized businesses.
